CLOSING: Centre of Computational linguistics has finished its activities

15 March 2023 The Council of VMU Faculty of Humanities terminated the activities of the Centre of Computational Linguistics. The activities of the Centre of Computational Linguistics (CCL) were taken over by the newly established Institute of Digital Resources and Interdisciplinary Research (SITTI). CCL resources and services will be available on the SITTI website. The CCL website will be available until 2 April 2023.


The International Conference “Human Language Technologies – the Baltic Perspective | Baltic HLT 2020“ in Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas

The 9th International Conference “Human Language Technologies – the Baltic Perspective” was organized by the Centre of Computational Linguistics and the  CLARIN-LT centre   was held at Vytautas Magnus University on September 22-23, in Kaunas, Lithuania. A pre-conference event was organized by The European Language Grid on September 21.

In addition to the traditional topics on natural language processing and language technologies, this conference featured a special session on corpora, tool, and resource development for teaching and learning the less resourced Baltic languages.

Keynote talks were be given by Elena Volodina (University of Gothenburg, Sweden), Jan Rybicki (Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland) and Daniel Zeman (Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic).

Conference presentations covered the topics of speech and text analysis, machine translation and natural language understanding, tools and resources and language learning resources.

The conference proceedings were published by IOS Press as EBOOK – Human Language Technologies – The Baltic Perspective
